Field Trips/Special Events/Special GUests
Pittsford Nursery School offers several field trips, charitable opportunities, and special events throughout the year that bring families together. Children have the chance to explore their surroundings and participate in events in the community. Here are examples of some of past offerings:
4s & YK Walk to the Firehouse- Children walk from school to the local fire department to discuss fire safety, take a tour of the fire house, and meet firefighters.
Trip to Chase Pumpkin Farm- A school-wide favorite! This field trip consists of a hayride to pick pumpkins and gourds, a walk through a corn maze, and time to feed the goats and play on the hay pile or pirate ship.
Fall Festival- Our back-to-school gathering, usually held outside in beautiful fall weather!
Halloween Costume Parade- Preschoolers, teachers and staff all dress in fun costumes - need we say more?
Voluntary Speech Screenings- This service from a local speech pathologist allows your child to be screened early and receive speech follow-up if necessary.
Winter Fest- Nothing beats going to school on a weekend to create seasonal crafts, watch movies and have hot chocolate in your pajamas.
Pittsford Food Cupboard- The school supports this local organization by supplying hearty soups that families bring throughout the year.
Movie Night- Grab your pjs and a blanket to watch a movie at night in the school!
Spring Carnival- Our last special event of the year, filled with fun and games!
